Day 46: Big Brass Jam

This weekend if the Treme Bicentennial, known as one of the oldest subdivisions, the oldest black neighborhood, a civil rights hotbed, and the birthplace of jazz.

Musical good times on a gorgeous night ended with dinner at Mimi's, where the "Trust Me" option, which formerly brought that cauliflower bowl of goodness) was a stuffed portabello mushroom that tasted like a juicy super rare steak with a sprinkle of goat cheese.

It's been a rough week, as you know because I decided it was more effort to act like everything is fine then to recognize and accept the challenges in the transition. But a four hour conversation with a very old friend, where conversational short hand made difficult topics easier helped considerably (even if it made me a hour late for the show).

Happy People
